Wireless Answers
  • The three major components of wireless are speed, distance of signal, and security. Your requirements for each will be reviewed when configuring your wireless environment.
  • Installing a wireless access point in your environment will also allow you to connect new computers (visitors, laptop from work, etc.) to the internet in the future.
  • Installing/configuring a wireless access card in your laptop will also allow you to connect wirelessly at other hot spots (airports, coffee houses, hotels, etc.)
  • Most wireless access points also allow multiple workstations to be connected to them via a network cable. In addition to adding wireless workstations, a computer that was connected to your internet connection via a cable can simply be plugged into your wireless device at no additional charge.
  • Mobile broadband cards from cellular providers allow you to connect to the internet without a access point or "hot spot".
